Reading and Responding
17th Jul 11Reading and Responding, published by ALEA in 2010, is a guidebook for teachers about finding, choosing and using literature in the primary classroom. Many kinds of texts are introduced, including picture books, novels, poetry, visual and multimodal texts and texts from a range of cultural contexts. The book offers a rich collection of practical and challenging classroom activities for all year levels.

Author Denise Ryan has been a teacher of children at all levels, from P-7 and beyond, and a literacy curriculum consultant in the New South Wales Department of Education and Training.
