ALEA Awards

The Australian Literacy Educators' Association wishes to recognise service to the Association and to the pursuit of excellence in literacy education in Australia. To this end the National Council of the Association proposes the following awards -
 
 
National Awards
Life Membership
ALEA Medal
The ALEA Citation of Merit Award for Literacy
The ALEA Citation of Merit Award for Research
The ALEA Certificate of Commendation to Local Councils

 

Nominations for national awards should be sent to the Secretary of the National Council by 31st March each year for consideration for presentation of awards at the ALEA National Conference later in the year.

 

State Awards
The ALEA Special Services Award
The University Award Award recipients

 

Nominations for state awards should be sent to the State Director by 31st March each year for consideration for presentation at the ALEA State Conference or similar event.

 


Nomination process
Individual ALEA members may be nominated by any two ALEA members by submitting the following:

 

  • Name of the Award
  • Name, home and workplace address, telephone, fax and Email details of the nominee
  • Name and address details of the writers of the submission.
  • A 2 page application which addresses the criteria for the nominated award (see following pages)
  • Nominee’s current CV.
