ALEA provides input into a range of AITSL forums and activities and from time to time manages specific projects on behalf of the Institute.

AITSL Flagship Program, Leading Curriculum Change
Leading Curriculum Change is an online professional learning program aimed at building teacher capabilities to lead curriculum change. Up to two thousand teachers will have access to flexible online learning modules, highly regarding international experts and literature and a national community of learners involved in professional conversations. There is also an opportunity to accrue credit for postgraduate courses through the University of Queensland.

AITSL National Professional Standards for Teachers
ALEA has been asked to develop supporting documentation for the National Professional Standards for Teachers:

• developing annotated illustrations of practice (exemplars)
• developing field/learning area statements which will frame the illustrations of practice.
